If I remember correctly, the Squire AI will never go after Human players (not sure on other AI players). Usually this is more of a problem when the AI is more aggressive.Īnother thing that would probably make the game better is to play on the level up from Squire (Knight?). This might be the case with your situation, but possibly not. One thing to keep in mind, some people do that are used to Civ and Total War is to not be aggressive enough early in the game so that they end up behind technologically and militarily. Sometimes trebuchets are not the best solution to city sieges depending on spells/city enchantments/defending units the enemy has. no middle ground vs.A few questions, what class are you playing as? Any different settings (besides difficulty)? What turn do these battles usually happen on? Do you have any screenshots of the army compositions for the city battles? To see army composition. On beginner, the bots use the setting AI Easy, on advanced they use AI Hard (and Very Hard on Expert).īeginner is not the "normal" difficulity - it's the easy difficulty that lets you win without much effort. You automatically meet the 2 allies on turn 2 of the map and so i simply started the map 3 tims on the 3 difficulties to see what difficulty level the bots would use ![]() That comment made me curious so i reloaded the star map autosave for that specific map. On missions like Assembly 02 beginner difficulty is likely normal to hard AI while on Advanced they are Hard to Very Hard AI. Beginner is basically the Normal/Medium setting. Campaign difficulty scales per mission, it's not like every mission on Beginner is easy. I played through most of the campaign on advanced but it always felt a bit stressful.Ī "normal" diffiiculty with a medium difficulty AI setting might have been more enjoyable. ![]() Originally posted by Azunai:wouldn't hurt to have a setting between beginner and advanced.
